Mobiles Have More Bacteria Than Toilets
The typical mobile phone can harbour up to 18 times more bacteria than the average toilet handle, it has been found.
Hygiene experts working for consumer guide Which? tested a selection of 30 mobile phones to see how dirty they were.
They found seven were covered in high levels of environmental bacteria which could act as a breeding ground for other bugs.
One of the seven was even (rather worryingly) harbouring faecal coliforms and could have given any user a serious stomach upset.
The findings suggest 15 million mobiles in the UK today could be potential health hazards… something to think about next time someone hands you their phone to look at a photo.

Having A Whale Of a Time
A couple out on a quiet boating trip off the coast of South Africa got the shock of their lives when they were suddenly joined on deck by a 40-ton southern right whale.
Terrified Ralph Mothes, 59, and Paloma Werner, 50, were helpless as it thrashed around on the ten-metre vessel, before slipping back into the sea off Cape Town.
The shaken couple used their engine to get back to shore. Paloma said yesterday: "It really was quite incredible - but very scary."
A tourist from Botswana who was aboard a nearby sightseeing boat captured the before and after shot.
Falling In Love
A couple having an affair were injured when they fell from a flat window during a secret sex session. The cheating pair ended up naked on the pavement after plunging from the first floor flat in the German city of Lubeck.
Neighbours said the couple often met at the apartment for covert romps. One said: "We didn't see them but we could hear them."
Cops said the pair were engrossed in their lovemaking on the windowsill when the woman toppled backwards out of the open window taking her partner with her.
But incredibly — despite being discovered naked together on the pavement — the woman insisted they were NOT making love and were just "messing around". She said: "We weren't having sex, we were just mucking about. I don't remember anything about the fall at all."
The lovers were both left with broken bones and head and face injuries after the fall yesterday. The man has been kept in hospital for observation.
